Gombe to include human face in tax collection – Alkali
The Executive Chairman of Gombe Internal Revenue Service Salisu Alkali, says tax collection would be given a human face.
Alkali, made this disclosure at the organisation’s office in the state, while receiving handover note from his predecessor Abubakar Inuwa Tata.

The newly appointed tax man, has had over nine years experience at the helms of tax collection in the state, starting from Goje, Dankwambo administration’s in Gombe as well as Federal Inland Revenue Service.
Reeling out his five-point blue print the Executive Chairman explained that he would collect taxes without coercion.
He said, “To improve collection efficiency, because of leakages, lack of understanding. I intend to make collection system efficient. To enhance compliance, how to make people pay taxes without coercion.
“I will create a tax friendly environment where tax payers can be free to ask questions. We will ensure taxes are paid without coercion. It easy to explain to tax payers due to the development projects due to the efforts of the governor. To reorganise the board and the working processes of the board. The use of Technology, I have seen how it improves collection and work of personnel
Speaking about the note handed to him, Alkali said he would take his time to study it, revealing that he would run an all inclusive government.
“We will improve the revenue, I will careful not to sign the handing over note. I will take time to study the handing over.
“I’m going to have an inclusive government. I will be straightforward in doing my own work. Where my staff goes wrong I will rebuke you and if you do good you will get a pat on the back,” Alkali added.
