2022 Yuletide: Gombe CAN Organises Christmas Carol
It was a another joyful and memorable day of praises by the household members of the Lord as the Christian Association of Nigeria, Gombe Chapter, staged its 2022 Christmas Carol on Sunday November, ushering the season of the birth of Jesus Christ.

The fully packaged Christians Carol was organised at the CAN Centre along Dukku Road in the Metropolis.
The Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, was among the dignitaries who had the wonderful privilege of worship, praises and thanksgiving to God Almighty for the gift of life, and salvation.
In a goodwill remark at the occasion, Dr. Jatau conveyed the goodwill of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Government, and the people of Gombe State to the Christians, praying for a successful Christmas celebration this year like it has always been in Gombe State.
He expressed concern that the situation in Nigeria today is one that calls for serious prayers for God’s intervention so that there shall be peace and tranquility in the nation.
Jatau, reiterated the call on christians to imbibe the spirit of unity as demanded of them in the Book of John Chapter seventeen verse twenty one.

At the instance of the Deputy Governor prayers were offered for the unity of the Church irrespective of denominational difference and for all leaders in various positions and levels of leadership in the state and the nation so that things will be right for the good of humanity.
In his remarks, the Senator Representing, Gombe South Senatorial District, Distinguish Senator Bulus Amos, appreciated the organisers for providing the opportunity for christians in the state to come together and worship God as a family, through the carol service.
The Senator stressed his continued support to the Church in all ways possible and encouraged the christians never to lose hope in life and God, since the birth of Jesus Christ brings triumph over evil.
He seized the opportunity to call on the people to take politics very serious, pointing out that unlike before, politics now is very real, it is either you play it well and enjoy it’s dividends or, you miss it all by not doing the right thing.
The Peoples Democratic Party Running Mate in the state, Hon. Timothy Danlele, congratulated the CAN Officials for successfully staging the 2022 Christmas Carol Service, wishing all Christians successful Christmas celebration.
The State Police Commissioner, CP. Oqua Efiom Etim, appreciated the Church for the act of worship to God, stressing that, it is as a result of the worship of God that the police are succeeding in carrying out their constitutional responsibilities.
He said, “the police is truly a friend of the people but they need to be supported by the people with the useful and relevant information to be able to perform.”
He assured that under his watch Gombe State is surely going to attest to the fact that the police is truly a friend in it’s real sense.
The Nidu-Grah Cham, Dr. James D. Chachis, represented by a Retired Permanent Secretary in the state, Barr. Obel Yaji read from Mathew Chapter 2 verse 11, urging Christians to emulate the life of love as exhibited by the Lord Jesus who, for love of humanity has abandoned his glory to come down and take human form.
He admonished the people to avoid unnecessary travels, especially night travels so as to enjoy a successful Christmas celebration with their loved ones.
Delivering the sermon, the Guest Speaker, Bishop of Gombe Anglican Diocese, Rt. Rev. Cletus Ajigben Tambari, took his text from Luke Chapter 2 verse 8-13 saying that the birth of Jesus was heralded by the Angel bringing good tidings first to shepherds in the field, but the authorities of that time plotted to kill him.
He said, the coming of Jesus brought good news of salvation, stressing the need for celebrating the news of salvation to humanity.
Adding that Christ who came as a child, then became the Lamb of sacrifice offered to free humanity from sin and death, same shall return as judge to judge all, calling on the people to chose Christ and be sure of their salvation.
The CAN Chairman, Rev. Fr. Joseph Shinga appreciated all those who attended the programme, praying God to bless them all.
The programme featured songs of praises to God by different fellowship groups.
