Bus’ll avail us the opportunity to spotlight the happenings in Gombe State
Correspondents’ chapel of Gombe NUJ on Friday took delivery of an 18-seater bus donated by Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, which was handed over by the Secretary of the State Government Prof. Ibrahim Njodi.

While commending the Gombe State Government for the donation the Chairperson of the chapel Hajara Leman, said the bus would help members spotlight the happenings across the 11 Local Government Areas.

Speaking through a press statement made available to PERISCOPE NIGERIA by Secretary of the chapel Peter Uwumarogie, she noted that the governor has redeemed his promise.
The statement partly read, “Following the presentation of a bus to the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Gombe State Council on Friday, we wish to commend the Gombe State Government.
“We herewith express our profound gratitude to His Excellency, Gov Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State for the good gesture done to the chapel.
“We are mindful of the fact that Gov Yahaya made a pledge to the chapel and has fulfilled the pledge, that is really heartwarming for us.
“This is a good development for journalists in the state as the bus will avail us the opportunity to spotlight the happenings in Gombe State in the interest of the development of Gombe State and service to humanity.”

Recall that the Nigeria Union of Journalists on 14th November 2022, also benefitted from the commissioning of 40 buses inaugurated by Governor Muhammadu Yahaya.
Our Correspondent reports that 30 out of the 40 were used to augment the transit business of Gombeline, the state-owned transportation company and 10 others distributed along hospitals as ambulances, to schools and Associations including NUJ.
“We are also careful not to forget the covert efforts of the Secretary to the Gombe State Government, Prof Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi; the Commissioner of Information and Culture, Mr Meshak Lauco; the Director-General of Press Affairs, Gombe Government House, Ismaila Uba Misilli and the entire NUJ family in the state,” the statement added.
