Gombe Govt Presents 18-Seater Bus to Correspondents’ Chapel of NUJ
In keeping with his promise of providing the enabling environment for journalists to effectively perform their mandate Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has presented an 18-seater bus to Correspondents’ Chapel of the NUJ.

Presenting the bus on behalf of the Governor, the Secretary to the State Government Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, said the gesture was in fulfilment of Governor’s promise to the Union.

Njodi however challenged media practitioners to remain objective in reporting issues in the state.
He noted the State Government under the watch of Governor Yahaya, “has done well in terms of provision of democratic dividends and requires the media to inform the people within and outside the state.”

The SSG also assured of protection of journalists from any form of intimidation or harassment in performing their lawful roles.
In their remarks, the Commissioner for Information and Culture Mr Meshak Audu Lauco, and the Chairman State Council of the NUJ Comrade Saidu Bappah Malala, appreciated the Governor for priotising the welfare of media practitioners in state.

It could be recalled that the State Government had on Monday 14th November 2022 given the state Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists an 18-seater bus to enhance its operations.
The brief but historic event had in attendance Principal Personal Secretary to the governor, Special Adviser to the governor on Drugs and Narcotics Mr Birma, Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Special Adviser on Strategy and Information Management and DG Press Affairs Ismaila Uba Misilli among other top government funtionaries.
