Gombe Gov Commends Emir of Dukku over CON Award
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has again lauded the people of Dukku Emirate for rallying support to his administration.
The Governor made this at a civic reception organised by Development Associations in honor of the Emir of Dukku Alhaji Haruna Abdulraheet ll following his conferment with Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Yahaya, described the reception as a show of love and respect for the monarch.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, he disclosed that the recognition of the Emir for the honour is a credit to the State in view of his contributions to National Development while in active service.
Governor Yahaya also used the occasion to call on the people to remain vigilant in matters of security.
He further appealed to politicians to shun politics of bitterness, intimidation, violence and campaign of calumny as the nation gears towards the 2023 elections.
The Governor commended the foresight of the conveners, maintaining that such event drives and promotes unity urging other communities to emulate.
On his part, The Chairman Dukku Local Government council Jamilu Ahmed Shabewa, said the conferment of the National Honours on the Emir came at right time being in recognition of his tireless commitment for the good of humanity.
Also, Guest Speaker at the occasion, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Alkali, represented by the State Commissioner for Finance Mohammed Gambo Magaji, harped on the gains of Corporate Organisations to collaborate with communities towards addressing needs of individuals and society at large.
Magaji, therefore urged the people to remain receptive to government, private and individual investments in the area for economic and physical development.
In his remark, the Emir of Dukku, Alhaji Haruna Rashid II CON appreciated the Government and people of the State for identifying with the emirate in all spheres of their endeavours.
The elated Emir also appreciated all sons and daughters of the emirate especially Development Associations that initiated and successfully conducted the reception in his honor, dedicating the CON Award to the entire people of the emirate for their unwavering support to his attendance leadership.
The historic event had in attendance Commissioners of Education Dr.Aishatu Umar Maigari, Rural Development Mohammed Danladi Adamu, Trade and Industry Nasiru Mohammed Aliyu amongst other personalities.
