Gombe Gov restates confidence in traditional rulers, tasks institution on efficiency

The Gombe State Government has restated confidence in the capacity of traditional rulers to efficiently deliver on any given task.
The Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who was represented by Secretary of Gombe State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, made the assertion when he received report of the State Committee on Distribution of Palliatives to the poor and vulnerable across the 11 local Government Areas of the State.

The Governor appreciated the Chairman and members of the committee for keeping to the tenent of transparency and accountability as exempified by the conduct of state government in handling matters of public concern
He also cited the performance of the Emir of Dukku, Alhaji Haruna Abdulkadir Rasheed as chairman of Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board which earned the state an award for the first time.
Presenting the report along with members of the committee Mai Kaltungo Eng. Saleh Mohammed said committee followed due diligence in dispensation of its assignment by ensuring that the palliatves reached the targeted population.
Mohammed explained that the committee also ensured the 85,300 bags of assorted grains were shared to the 1987 electoral wards in the state with each getting 27 bags.
He further told the Governor that a total number of 24 identified groups were categorised into a, b, c allocated 200, 100 and 50 bags respectively.
While appreciating the Governor for having confidence in the committee, Mohammed also commended him for giving them free hand and enabling environment to successfully carryout their assignment.
