Gombe lauds contributions of non-indigenous communities, harps peace, unity
Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has stressed the need for communities in the state to jealously guard and sustain the relative peace that makes the state unique in the country.

Speaking at Calendar launch and Award presentation to some personalities in the state by the Council of Community Leaders at the College of Nursing and Midwifery Gombe, the Governor said the state has remained a reference point in the country in terms of Social Integration, religious tolerance and cohesion providing the enabling environment for all people to thrive in their chosen endeavours.
Represented by the Special Adviser on Strategy and Information management Alhaji Ahmed Shuaibu Gara, the Governor reassured residents of the state of equity, fairness and justice irrespective of tribe, religion or region.

The Governor further lauded the contributions of non indigenous communities resident in the state and charged them to remain law abiding, focused as they conduct their lawful trades, businesses, studies and national assignments in the state.
The Guest Speaker at occasion, the Secretary to Gombe State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi called for Unity among the various communities in the state to people reap the advantages of diversity of Nigeria’s diversity.
According Njodi, “without unity, Social Justice, tolerance for one another the quest for the countries integration will remain only but a dream.”
Njodi therefore encouraged the council to double their support to the government and leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya as the 2023 election comes closer to ensure the continuity of his administration.
The SSG further commended the organisers of event maintaining that the diversity of the state occasioned by tribes, religions, cultures, political affliations and social orientations should serve as blessings rather than hurdles to the country’s development.
The chairman of the occasion, Amb. Ibrahim Yerima Abdullahi, expressed delight to be part of the history making event calling on communities in other states to emulate.
Abdullahi also tasked the council of community leaders, to feel free in accessing the dividends of good Democratic governance in the state.
In his remarks, the President of the council of community leaders, Mr, Monday David Ngwana, said the council was established with the aim of cultivating unity and giving members a platform and voice to pursue common interest as well as contribute to the development of the state.
The occasion featured presentation of Excellent Leadership Awards to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, his Deputy; Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, SSG; Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, Chief of Staff Goverment House; Inuwa Kari and Ambassador Ibrahim Yerima Abdullahi among others.
