Mai Kaltungo hosts Senior Course 45 participants
Mai Kaltungo Engr. Sale Mohammed, on Wednesday played host to participants of senior course 45 of Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji.
Addressing the team at his palace, Mohammed said unemployment among young people has been negatively impacting security in addition to growing economic hardship.
The Mai, however commended the military for doing a lot to keep nigerians and Nigeria safe.
He explained that on his part aside lobbying for employment opportunities he has also engaged in the pursuit of admission for seekers into various higher institutions of learning across the country considering the role of education in the advancement of peoples lives.
Mohammed said the Kaltungo Traditional council periodically holds Cultural Carnival whose proceeds are channelled towards women empowerment especially those engaged in petty businesses.
He also informed participants of the effort of the Maidom in creating employment through creation of Cultural dance group citing example with Romo dance group.
The team had earlier visited the headquarters of Gombe State Police Command and Department of State Service DSS, where they were briefed on the security challenges occasioned by youth unemployment which include political thuggery, banditry, rape, burglary, kidnapping and substance abuse.
The Commissioner of Police, Etim Oqoa and State Director DSS Abba A. Adams, however informed the visiting Senior Course 45 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College that with active support of the state government through the Ministries of Internal Security, Youth Development and sister security agencies as both kinetic and non kinetic strategies are been applied to ensure peace and stability in the state.
They said with the begining of political campaigns for the 2023 elections security formations have been proactive at individual command and joint levels of operations to ensure violence free polls in Gombe State and beyond.
