Police confirm FUK student committed suicide
Gombe State Police Command on Thursday confirmed that a carry over 400 level English student of Federal University Kashere Nalkur Zwalnan-Lar, committed suicide.
Speaking on behalf of the command, the Public Relations Officer ASP Mahid Abubakar, said Investigation into the reason for the suicide would be made known upon completion of investigation.
He said, “Investigation was ongoing to ascertain the true cause of his death.”
Zwalnan-Lar, who had earlier written a letter which he handed to his neighbour, urged that the letter be read and handed to his parents after 20 minutes.
Sources claimed that aside family issues, Zwalnan-Lar, was demoralised that his girlfriend Napyir, had been married after the eight-month industrial action of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
Zwalnan-Lar said, “Tell Napyir, that God will judge.”
He also itemised list of those he was indebted to and mentioned how they would get paid, stressing that despite been a child of a wealthy man he lacked.
“Life has nothing to offer me, since my father has millions of Naira and can not have a phone of N50,000. Am glad I have conversation with you, I wish to have it with mum,” Zwalnan-Lar added.
