Police Command Arrest Five Car Hijackers, Fertiliser Fraudster, others in Gombe

The Gombe State Commissioner of Police, CP Ishola Babatunde Babaita, has expressed his avowed determination to further stem the tide of crime and other nefarious activities in the state as the command record tremendous achievements in the state.

Briefing newsmen in Gombe on Wednesday, the Commissioner of Police said that the Command on the 3rd October, following a distress call of Armed Robbery attack in the House of one Ishaya Jalo, aged 64 years, of Federal Lowcost Gombe, where one Corolla LE vehicle white in colour with Reg. No. BWR 351 CH Abuja FCT, was snatched along with original particulars and other valuable items including Laptops, GSM Phone Jewelries and wrappers were carted away by the hoodlums, Police Operatives attached to Gombe Divisional Headquarters swung into action while five suspects namely Muktar Mohammed, aged 30 years of Kaltungo LGA, Jesse Julius, aged 38 years of Kaltungo LGA, Uzairu Mohammed, aged 23 years of Hayin Dogo Nasarawo quarters, Halilu Husseini, aged 32 years of Zirin-Gaza, byepass and Danlami Baba, aged 38 years of Bolari quarters were arrested at various locations and many exhibits were recovered including the snatched vehicle in Kano/Katsina States and other locations.

The CP said the suspects have voluntarily confessed to the crime and would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
Also, on 1st November 2022, following a formal complaint of theft of motor vehicle (Peugeout 406) by one Manu Siddiki, of Orji quarters Gombe against one Muhammad Muhammad AKA Bappah, aged 27 years of Jeka-da-fari quarters Gombe. That some time in the month of September 2021, he parked his vehicle Peogeout 406 ash in colour, with the original documents inside the vehicle, valued N850,000 naira only and suspected the said Bappah to have stolen the Car. Police operatives attached to State Criminal Investigation Department swung into action and on the 2nd November 2022 and arrested the suspect, in the course of investigation the suspect led police detectives to Bauchi State where the stolen car was recovered from one Sani Suleiman, aged 40 years. The component of the vehicle was sold to the receiver at the sum of N180.000, while the car engine and gear was sold to one Osama Shehu and Ibrahim respectively.
All exhibits were recovered, suspect have confessed to the crime while case will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
According to him, on the 5th November, following a formal complaint, Operatives attached to State Intelligence Bureau and also arrested one Magaji Alhaji Inuwa, of fagen Ningi town of Bauchi State, who specialised in defrauding and cheating the residents of Sambodaji village via Akko LGA Gombe State under False Pretence that he will supply fertiliser and other farm implements to them, the suspect however fraudulently collected the sum of over N800,000 from various farmers of the said community where he switched off all his phones and absconded with the money to unknown destination
The Suspect have voluntarily confessed to the crime and two Jincheng motorcycle recovered as exhibits while the case would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
