QATAR 2022 WORLD CUP:Brazil humbled Serbia as Richarlison shines with a superb brace
By Samson Adeyemo
Brilliant second-half brace by Richarlison, including a superb overhead scissor kick, gave the Samba Boys a 2-0 win over Serbia in their opening World Cup game at the Lusail Stadium on Thursday.

The first half of the match ended goalless after several attempts from both teams to score fell on dead lucks but
Richarlison broke the deadluck in the 62nd minute of the game as he scored the opener when Vinicius Junior’s hard cross-shot was blocked and the Tottenham striker converted the chance to lift the hope of the record five-time winners.
Serbia did their best to frustrate the Brazilian defense to maintain parity but all efforts proved no relevant result.
In other results for Thursday’s fixtures, Cameron lost one neal to Switzerland with the only goal scored by Embolo who was born in Yaounde, Cameroon, in 1997, but was raised in Basel.
Uruguay played a goalless draw with South Kore, while Portugal beat Ghana 3 – 2.
