Russia’s Special Military Operation in Ukraine: Global Energy, Political and Economic Implications;
Part 1: A Winter of Strikes
It’s nine months since the commencement of the Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine which has caused global disruptions in oil and gas prices, food prices, energy insecurity in Europe and loss of lives on both sides in the theatre of conflict.
On the one hand, Russia as a super power from the defunct soviet era, on the other hand, an Ukraine with military, political and economic support from western allies, thus creating a multipolar world of the West versus the East. As the conflict rages on, there seems to be no end in sight. While a long winter awaits Ukraine as a result of the calamitous destruction of energy infrastructures leading to loss of electricity, heating devices and clean water, one can only wish for a speedy resolution at grievances.
Subsequent parts of the series will feature the history, speculations, propagandas, and implications of the military operation on global stability.
