2023: Defection Looms, As Jamilu Gwamna Visits Gombe Gov In Abuja
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jamilu Ishiyaku Gwamna, has visited Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, at the Governor’s lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.
Sardaunan Gombe, is not meeting the Governor for the first time, as he was one of the dignitaries at Governor Yahaya’s son Misbahu wedding fatiha with Amira last September.
However, his presence at the highly attended wedding where he was alleged to have met the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress Bola Ahmed Tinubu, spurred reactions.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the former Managing Director of Kano Electricity Distribution Company, resigned his membership with the All Progressives Congress (APC), to contest gubernatorial primary election, where he lost to Muhammad Barde.
He recently donated PDP Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar Gombe Campaign office, to support his 2023 aspiration.
With the recent relationship, Inuwa Yahaya’s, 2023 aspiration may become a walk over, following his perceived large support base.
According to a Press Statement made available to our Correspondent by Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Director General of Press Affairs, the two top politicians met behind closed doors for about 2 hours.
“This meeting came on the heels of an earlier one between Jamilu Gwamna and the All Progressives Congress, APC Vice Presidential Candidate, Sen. Kashim Shettima in Abuja,” Misilli added.
