Alex Otti to end non-payment of salaries, pensions, others
The Labour Party governorship candidate in Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has received a group of Abia Pensioners who paid him a courtesy visit at his home in Isialangwa South LGA.
Speaking during the visit, some of the pensioners who spoke, condemned the present administration for abandoning the old citizens of the state and failing to paying them what is rightfully theirs, and expressed confidence that things would turn around positively for the pensioners in the state under Otti’s administration.
Responding, the governorship hopeful used the opportunity to share his ideas and plans for the neglected senior citizens of the state, and harped on the need to innovate the state’s economy and create wealth for the people of the state.
Dr. Otti promised to put an end to the bad trend of non-payments of salaries, pensions and gratuities in the state, and vowed to make prompt payments of salaries and pensions a new normal in Abia state.
In his words “Our economy needs to be stimulated. How do you do that. It is by creating wealth, putting money in the hands of the people, who would engage in economic activities, create jobs, pay salaries and pensions as at when due.”
“We will start paying salaries and pensions as at when due.”
Anyone entertaining fears about rigging during the general elections should perish that fear because votes will definitely count with the new electoral law and the advent of BVAS. It is not going to be business as usual,” he concluded.
