Gombe politics: We’ll collapse remaining PDP structure, Ex-party chieftains vow
The Former North-East Zonal Secretary, Kabiru Bappah Jauro, on Saturday vowed to shutdown the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Gombe State within the next three weeks through massive grassroots mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Jauro stated this during his brief address while being received as part of the defectors from the PDP on the occasion of the inauguration of the APC governorship campaign held at the Pantami stadium, Gombe.
He said with the calibre of chieftains that left the PDP, there was no way the PDP would remain the same.
He said they would work to deliver defeat to the PDP in Gombe State.

“We are assuring you that we are back to APC, we will work to collapse the remaining structure in PDP.
“We were the ones that formed the structure; where are the youths of Gombe? We will show them we are now in APC and we will tell them(PDP) that the state belongs to the youths and we are all for APC.”
On his part, Alhaji Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, who was the first runner up in the May 25, PDP governorship primaries, said the APC-led government had achieved a lot in the state.
He said in view of the achievements, it was necessary to support the party to consolidate on the gains recorded in the interest of the people.
According to him, the PDP in the state stand no chance of victory in the 2023 elections, as he pledge to work to secure better outing for APC in 2023.
The APC National Chairman, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu who received chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who switched camp in the state, said the new addition would help solidify victory for APC.
Adamu stressed the need for supporters of the party to remain united towards clinching victory in 2023, and urged the defectors to work with the campaign council and entire team towards its victory at all levels.
Some of the prominent PDP members that joined the APC include former Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo’s deputy, Mr Charles Iliya amongst others.
