QATAR 2022 WORLD CUP:MOROCCO BECOME THE FIRST AFRICAN TEAM TO REACH THE SEMI FINALS OF THE WORLD CUP

Al Thumama Stadium, Doha witness history as the Atlas lions defeated Portugal in the quarter finals to become the first African team to reach the semi finals, as a devastated Cristiano Ronaldo storms down the tunnel in tears courtesy of an excellent defensive performance and Youssef En Nesyri’s 42 minutes goal.

En-Nesyri, who had twice headed over the crossbar earlier, leapt higher than both Portugal goalkeeper Diogo Costa and defender Ruben Dias to put Morocco ahead in the 42nd minute.
Moreover, Seleção dominated the proceedings of the play with many stand out chances to change the complexion of the game but were deny by Yassine Bounou the Moroccan goalie and the well organized defence line of the Atlas lions who only conceded an own goal in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Regragul’s men were down by a man in stoppage time when Walid Cheddira was sent off after getting two yellow cards in a minute, but with less than five minutes left in the contest Portugal failed to take advantage of the situation.
However, Morocco will face France in the semi finals on Thursday to decide the finalist of who will play either Argentina or Croatia in the final.
