How to Identify INGO, NGO
So many persons over time have mistaken International Non Governmental Organisation INGO, for Non Governmental Organisation.

Some claim that since both are into development, it could be mistaken for the other.
However, While INGO is autonomous, NGO is registered under national laws. INGO operates multiple offices across the nation, NGO operates within the country. Also, INGO is a member of global platforms, while NGO has limited scope of operation.

Speaking through a chat with our Correspondent, Musa Ali-Maishanu, the Regional Coordinator of Global Pan-Africanism Network Nigeria (GPAN), said his organisation is an example of INGO, adding that shares its attributes.
He said, “GPAN is an International pan-african non-governmental organisation with Drafts country host (INGO). While, SERAP is a non-governmental organisation (NGO).”
“NGOs are restricted to the local vicinities, they are not allowed to work on the cross-border scenarios. While, INGOs are allowed to work on the cross border scenarios,” the Regional Coordinator added.
