Mai Tangle Stool: LP Gombe Guber Candidate, Amuga promises to ‘right the wrongs’
Following the recent court judgement of the High Court of Gombe state on the Tangale chieftaincy, where the case was dismissed for lack of merit, Gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Keftin Amuga, has promised to right the wrongs.
Amuga, in a statement made available to our Correspondent described the judgement as insensitive to the plight of the Tangale people.

PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the suit concerning the Mai Tangle stool, emanated from Governor Muhammadu Yahaya’s, appointment of Sanusi Maiyamba, as Mai Tangle, after he was said to have been defeated by Dr. Musa Maiyamba.
Amuga, who sympathised with his people noted that the decision, “was religiously motivated, discriminatory and intended to deprive the overwhelming Tangale people the choice of the accepted Mai of Tangale. The judgement is also insensitive and aimed to dehumanise and provoke the Tangale people. It also attempts to recolonise, supplant the independence of Tangale people and destroy their aged long rich cultural heritage.
“Yes, it is indeed a deliberate political problem created by the APC Political Party and its sitting Governor. Ironically it is also supported by the main opposition Party PDP Gubernatorial candidate in his initial letter of congratulation publish online. Certainly it will therefore demand a Political Party and a sitting Governor to provide a solution to this problem.”
While promising to revert to status quo once Labour Party forms government in the state and Nation, he expressed optimism that amicable solution would be achieved.
“Accordingly while tendering my heart felt sympathy to the entire Tangale people and sympathisers I want to remind all that as a matter of utmost necessity the way out of this problem is to join and vote in the Labour Party in the 2023 General Elections because it is only Peter Obi /Amuga team that is poised to provide the political solution to this problem not only to the Tangale people but to the entire oppressed peoples of Gombe state,” Amuga added.
