NDE empowers 36 unemployed youths with vocational, environmental beauty skills equipment in Taraba

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) on Wednesday empowered 36 unemployed youths in Taraba with vocational and environmental Beautification skills equipment.
Alhaji Danjuma Shehu, the Programme State Coordinator noted at the event in Jalingo was the Federal Government effort towards ensuring drastic reduction of unemployment in the state.

Shehu also explained that the gesture was a loan that has a three years repayment due period with three months moratorium before commencement of repayment.
“10 vocational trained participants would be empowered with vocational kits while 26 participants would be empowered with environmental Beautification skills equipment to enable them establish business of their own and be employers of labour.
“Monitoring team would be sent to monitor you on a regular basis to ensure that the items given to you are not been sold but use for the purpose intended for, and to have a multiply effect and reduce the rate of unemployment in the state.
“This gesture is not palliative, it is a loan that you are required to pay within three years. You will have a three months grace before you will start paying the loan,” the Coordinator explained.
In his speech, Dr Hassan Adukarim Aduhakim who represented the Direrector Vocational skills Development (VSD) of the NDE, expressed that the gesture would go a long way in reducing the unemployment rate.
He advised beneficiaries not to sell the items but ensure a multiply effect of the gesture.
