NYSC Coordinator lauds Cultural Carnival Committee
The State Coordinator NYSC Gombe, Mrs Ada Imoni, has commended the Committee saddled with the responsibility of packaging the 2022 Batch ‘C’ Stream II Cultural carnival.
Mrs Imoni, while declaring open the auspicious ceremony, could not hide her excitement with the innovations introduced to the programme, adding that the mandate of the programme is the promotion of national unity and exposing the beauty in the nation’s diversity.
Mrs Imoni, maintained that, the National Youth Service Corps established almost fifty years ago, has continued to introduce innovative programmes in the course content ,thereby keeping the Scheme visible.
“One of such innovations is the Cultural carnival which strives to restore our dignity subdued by foreign cultures. I implore you not to allow your traditions go extinct,” she said
The ten platoons represented the following tribes;
Tangale, Waja, Igbo, Urhobo, Efik, Sayawa, Fulani, Yoruba,Tiv and Hausa
There was a presentation of a first aid box by Corps medical personnel to the Camp Clinic.
