2023 Election: CP Etim Visits Funakaye, Nafada Emirates
The Commissioner of Police Gombe State Command CP Oqua Etim has embarked on visit to Funakaye and Nafada Emirate councils.

The Commissioner’s convoy graced the Emirate council of Funakaye and that of Nafada on Tuesday to familiarise with the councils, solicit for support and seek for fatherly counsel and blessings from the Emir of Funakaye Alh. Yakubu Mohammed Kwairanga iv and that of Emir of Nafada Alh Mohammadu Dadum Hamza.

Earlier in his address the Commissioner of Police said he deemed it fit to pay homage and accord respect, give honour to whom honour is due.
He appealed to the two Emirate councils to use their influence and fatherly voices to talk to the members of their communities to shun violence or any other vices and conduct themselves in respect to the rule of law.
Etim also urged the people to be careful with their utterance so as to stay away from hate speech for peaceful conduct of the 2023 General Elections.
The CP reiterated the Commad’s readiness to provide adequate security before, during and after the Election.
Responding, the Emir of Funakaye Kwairanga iv applauded the Commissioner for the visit and assured him of their commitments to maintain the relative peace enjoyed by the loving people of their communities.
“We will do as you said Commissioner, we will do everything possible within our reach to conduct ourselves and vote peacefully,” Emir of Funakaye added.
The Emirate council of Nafada requested for renovation and building of new police barracks, redeployment of women police to the community as well as recruitment of the Sons and daughters of the community into the Nigeria Police Force so as to give them a sense of belonging.
The CP however promised to look into the requests with the view of sorting it out in short possible time.
The Emir of Nafada HRH. Alh. Muhammad Dadum Hamza further thanked the Commissioner of Police for the visit and wished him well in chairing the Affairs of Gombe State Police Command.
In view of expressing their gratitude to the Commissioner of Police, the two Emirates gave out gifts to the CP and wished him alongside his officers and men safety back to their destination.
