Gombe: NNPP Supporters Defect To PDP In Billiri
Some members and supporters of the New Nigeria Peoples Party ( NNPP), mostly youths have defected from the party to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe state.
Receiving the defectors, Billiri PDP Chairman represented by Yaya Sale, said the defectors have taken a wise decision for defecting from the NNPP to the PDP.
He maintained that the PDP has a well structured party manifesto aimed at uplifting the living standard of Nigerians and bringing development to their doorsteps.
“As the PDP is a party to beat in any election going by its track record in good governance when it held helms of affairs for 16 years which every Nigerian can attest to it,” he said.
Also speaking, PDP Ward Chairman for Tal, Danburam Bilal, urged the defectors to work hard to canvass votes for the party in the forthcoming general elections for the party to clinch most of the elective seats from State to Presidency.
Responding on behalf of the defectors, Yerima Danburam, assured of their readiness to work assiduously for the PDP to emerge victorious especially in the presidential election.
Also, North-East Publicity Secretary of the NNPP, Ibrahim Tal, announced his resignation from the position saying he was lured to the PDP by his political mentor an Ambassador of Peace, Dr Lima Babayo, from Bauchi state who was the Secretary of the NNPP North-East zone.
The erstwhile Publicity Secretary explained that he joined the PDP to ensure the party regains power to bring good governance, adding that “there will be sustainable economy and development devoid of kidnapping, banditry insurgency among other insecurity and challenges confronting the Nation enjoyed by Nigerians when the PDP was in power for 16 years.”
Tal disclosed that there are over 4 million members of the NNPP party in the North-East which he and his mentor are strategising ways to bring them on board to the PDP.
