NDE begins Orientation, Life skill training of school-on-wheel for youths in Taraba

The National Directorate of Employment on Thursday commenced the orientation/Life skill training of school-on-wheel for 20 participants in Taraba State.
Director General of the Directorate, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, disclosed that the orientation programme was the Federal Government’s strategy to tackle unemployment and reduce poverty in the society.
Fikpo who was represented by Mr Saidu Ibrahim Magaji, A Principal Accountant in the department of finance and accounts of the NDE, explained that the training orientation which was being organised under the vocational skills Development department of the Directorate was targeted to benefit 160 participants across eight states of Nigeria.
The DG urged participants to be committed in the training to achieve the purpose it was organised for, and wait for the benefits behind it as the training was going to feature, fashion design, computer training and peace initiative which was key to nation building.
In his speech, Taraba State Coordinator of NDE, Alhaji Danjuma Shehu disclosed that they have identified one beneficiary in each communities of Jalingo local for the training.
“The target group are unskilled youths in rural areas who wish to be trained in skills relevant to the modern world.
“After recruitment and documentation of the beneficiaries, there will be an induction course to enable the beneficiaries to acquire full knowledge of the program and what is expected of them.
“The training which is aimed at installing a positive attitude in the beneficiaries and also enabling them to cope with daily activities and the critical need to be self-employed, would last for a period of three months with a monthly stipend attached to,” the state coordinator explained.
