Gombe SSG Directs Immediate Fumigation of Airport, Unveils Stickers
… Commend the Sole Administrator for innovations
The Secretary to Gombe State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has directed on behalf of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,
the immediate fumigation of Gombe International Airport.

Njodi who gave the directive when he led top Government functionaries to inspect the upgrade of facilities at the Gombe International Airport on Friday said safety of Staff and passengers remained the priority of government.

He said, ” You are to liaise with the Ministry of Environment for immediate fumigation.They have all the facilities needed to fumigate the airport environment”
The SSG further directed for the report of all needed facilities for short term, medium and long term be forwarded to his office for immediate government action.

“Airport opreation is strictly business thereby providing government addittional source of revenue,” he added.
He decried the level of facility decay at airport despite government effort towards ensuring that it meets International standard, stressing that effort of government to industrialise the state would remain a mirage without a beffitting airport.
Gombe State Scribe, also lauded the sole administrator of the Airport and his team for addressing the perennial water problem and quality work they are doing to upgrade facilities at the airport to meet world standard.
He charged the management of the Airport to as a matter of urgency also address the obsolete fire fighting equipmement to guarantee safety at the Airport.
The SSG also commended the sole administrator and his team for initiating trolleys, car hire stickers, VIP stickers as means of generating revenue, signage and designation of parking lots and many other innovations.
Conducting the SSG and his entourage round the Airport, the Sole Administrator, Engr. Mohammed Kabir, briefed the SSG on the level of work done in accordance with the mandate given him in his appointment.
He called on the expedited action on the soon to be forwarded report of equipment needed for required upgrade of the Airport.
The inspection visit of SSG which had in attendance the Commissioners for Finance ,Trade, Commerce and Industry Mohammed Gambo Magaji, Mohammed Nasiru Aliyu, and Special Adviser Rural Development Mohammed Shetima Gadam.
Others are; Director General Research and Documentation Government House Dr. Muazu Shehu, Executive Secretary SEMA, SSA’s to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and Directors in the SSG’s office featured the official unveilling of the trolleys and stickers for use in the Airport by the Secretary to the State Government.
