Oil in North: Discussion should move from ownership to benefit to people – Gombe Gov
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya on Saturday night completed his tour across the 114 political wards in the state, with an assertion that claims to Kolmani oil field should be about yielding the much needed development.
Recall that crude oil and gas deposits were found in a boundary between Gombe and Bauchi States, comprising of Kolmani one to five.

The Governor had earlier since 2022 December commenced two-day tour across eleven Local Government before it was adjusted to just one day rally.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the palace of the Emir of Gombe, Abubakar Shehu III, shortly after touring some wards in Gombe metropolis, Yahaya said, “the discovery of crude oil should be of benefit to the common man instead of the crisis of ownership.”
The governor called politically exposed persons to urged youths to eschew violence adding that, “Violence doesn’t bring the much desired progress and development to any society.”
He expressed optimism to triumph during the polls, stressing that his works and support from residents would ensure he returns to complete his developmental strides.
Yahaya said, “from network eleven hundred we have been able to construct roads linking both rural areas to urban areas, to renovation of PHCs across the 114 wards, to remodeling of general hospitals and the various interventions in education through BESDA programme and other initiatives.”
On his part, Emir Abubakar, while lauding the governor’s efforts in creating a modern Gombe, enumerated the interventions of the current administration in improving healthcare, education, water supply.
According to him, Yahaya’s approach to governance has endeared him to voters, stressing that he was confident that he would be returned.
