Shettima to yield better opportunity for North-East than Atiku – APC youth leader

The National Youth Leader of All Progressives Congress Dayo Israel, says the North-East has great prospects with Kashim Shettima as Vice President, with potential of becoming President.
Israel, who is in Gombe on a working visit made this disclosure on Sunday in an interview with journalists shortly after touring the markets where food items were bought from traders on-the-spot and distributed to some residents.
According to him, the region would not toil with a 16 years of connection with power, describing the Vice Presidential candidate as having brighter chances than the choice of Atiku Abubakar, Presidential candidate of the PDP.
He said, “You have Atiku in the North-East but you also have Kashim Shettima from the North-East. We have no doubt that people of the North-East knows that their son Shettima is a brighter prospect. Would you take eight years over sixteen years? If Shettima, is VP today, God willing Asiwaju spends eight years, Shettima is VP for eight years with a potential to be president after. It simple mathematics because Shettima is young and vibrant.”
While debunking insinuations that Tinubu’s presidency would not be favourable to youths, the National Youth Leader added, “Over 70 per cent of the youth are behind Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu because we know out of the three people running for the presidency of Nigeria today, he is the only man who has shown young people of inclusivity in his experience. Atiku has served as Vice President, two of them as Governor. Tell me which of them has the track record of carrying young people along. Asiwaju has created opportunity and platform for young people to rise and that we don’t see from other people.Asiwaju is coming to say my administration is going to be intergenerational collaboration between my generation and yours (young people).”
Speaking on his innovations as National leader, Israel disclosed that he had digitised membership of the youth wing of APC stressing that his administration sort for 50 per cent slash on nomination forms for young people.
“I got youths in our party 50 per cent discount on nomination form from Assembly to Presidency. I have digitalised the youth wing membership of our party. Members can get certain discounts at some stores, hotels. By joining APC you can win 100 million naira, we are flagging it off soon,” Israel.
