2023 Elections: Gombe SSG tasks Christians on Prayers
Christians have been admonished to continually pray for lasting peace in Gombe State and the country in general especially as the 2023 elections draws near.
Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, gave the admonition, while speaking as a special guest at a naming and dedication of Pastor Emeka Mathew’s child which took place at the Dominion Power Assembly church Tumfure, on Sunday.
The SSG represented by his Information officer Mr. Joshua Danmalam appreciated the church for fervent prayers which he said has kept the country thus far calling for more prayers among believers.
Njodi said, “the State Government under Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya is doing everything humanly possible to maintain the peace as well as provide democracy dividends for the benefit of all.”
Njodi who appreciated Pastor Emeka for honouring him by naming his newly born baby boy after him prayed for God’s blessings and long life for the newborn.
He also thanked Dominion power Assembly church for its support and prayers for him and the Government and all those in position of authority.
In his message, the clergy-in-charge of the church, Pastor Pius Odola stressed the importance of child dedication which started from the days of Jesus Christ, who was dedicated in the temple and charged all parents to do same whenever they are blessed with the fruit of the womb.
In his remarks, Pastor Emeka Mathew, thanked God for his blessings and Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi whom he said has touched his life positively hence naming the child after him trusting that he would emulate the good virtues of Prof Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, whom he described as good, detribalised, kind hearted and a bias free minded personality.
