2023: Katsina NAWOJ Chair advises electorates to vote base on conscience
The Katsina state chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, (NAWOJ,) on Thursday urged electorate especially women to shun “all modes of inducements and vote according to their conscience.”
The Association also called for free,fair and credible elections.
A statement signed by the State Chairperson of the Association, Hannatu Mohammed explained that the appeals became imperative because the Association wanted ” free, fair and credible elections.”
” The NAWOJ is vigilant to the conduct of the 2023 general election’s credibility and Transparency without any fear or favour,”She stressed in the statement.
NAWOJ also called on all relevant stakeholders in the election process” to be gender balance most especially to the women aspirants and also call on women to vote for women in order to be well represented.”
The Association also appealed to “security agencies, political parties among others to make sure this year’s poll will be the best, free of violence election in the history of Nigeria.”
Meanwhile,all is now set for the Saturday’s elections in the state as election materials for the exercise had been despatched to all the 34 Local Government Areas of the state.
Security operatives were also being deployed to the councils as at Thursday for the election.
