Campaign: Mailantarki’s wife, NNPP women group storm Kumo
….Donate items worth millions of Naira to Akko LGA Women
Wife of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Gubernatorial candidate in Gombe State, Hajiya Samira Khamisu Mailantarki and her entourage on Tuesday stormed Kumo in continuation of their campaign to woo more supports from women electorate for NNPP candidates in the state.
The team first paid homage to the Emir of Akko, Alhaji Umar Atiku at his palace before proceeding to the venue of the campaign where Mailantarki distributed relief materials to several women in Kumo town.
While at the Emir’s palace, Samira Mailantarki said she was there to pay homage as well as seek prayers and supports for her husband’s Gubernatorial bid.
“I’m at home here in the blessed palace of Emir of Akko, your highness Sir, we need your prayers and supports; that’s why we are here.”
Responding, the royal father thanked Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki for the donation he made towards the completion of the ongoing palace in the Emirate.
Alhaji Atiku who received the team with joy for coming to pay homage, said Samira Khamisu Mailantarki was always welcomed to the palace and “my prayers are with you to have a successful event and may Almighty Allah bless the exercise.”
Hajiya Samira and her entourage including the NNPP’s state women leader Honourable Shawuya and Director General of the Women wing campaign team Mrs. Mole Istifanus among others were present at the Emir’s palace.
At the venue, Akko LGA Party Secretariat, Samira Mailantarki told participants some of the dividends of democracy that would be brought to women and children in the LGA and state if they elect Mailantarki as governor at the polls.
She stated that her husband was competent, capable and reliable to take the state to a new level where citizens would be proud of being from Gombe State.
“If you all elect my husband as the next governor of Gombe State, there will be improved welfare, provisions of healthcare, addressing out-of-school menace, empowerment, education and political inclusion among others for the Kumo women.”
Mailantarki then presented the items worth millions of Naira to the women, the items include rappers, detergents, soap and cash gifts.
Zumunta Mata Women group, Kumo branch entertained the crowd with songs as the event rounded off successfully in Kumo while the campaign train also visited Pindiga and Gona Emirates respectively.
