Don’t meddle into local politics, NYSC Coordinator urges corps members

Taraba State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, Mr Anthony Nzoka, on Tuesday urged corps members not to meddle into local politics in their various places of primary assignments so as to stay safe.
Nzoka made the call at the closing ceremony of the 2023 batch A stream 1 Orientation course at Permanent Orientation Camp at Sibre, near Jalingo.
According to him, corps members were expected to be neutral as they perform election duties at the 2023 general elections.
“I want to urge you all not to meddle in to the local politics but remain neutral as you perform the election duties for a better country.
“Bulk of the adhoc staff that will be used in conducting the general election will be the corps members,” he said.
Nzoka quoted the Director General of the Corps, Brig. Gen. Ahmed as directing the corps members to be conscious of their personal security, avoid unauthorised travel, night travels and all other acts that may compromise security.
He commended Gov Darius Ishaku for his continuous support to the success of the scheme in the state.
Miss Benidicta Hillary, a corps member lauded the quality of orientation she received on the camp.
Hillary noted that the entrepreneurship training had changed her perception about job, saying she now feels that would end up becoming a job creator.
