Elect Leaders with the fear of God – Christian faithfuls urged
The need for electorates to vote for leaders with the fear of God has been emphasised, especially as the country gears towards 2023 general elections.
Speaking on Sunday during the Evangelical Church Wining All (ECWA), Men fellowship International 25th annual conference for Gombe District Church Council, Rev. Maianguwa Liman, A Guest Speaker, disclosed that christians with the fear of God would not do wrong, but rather attract great rewards for their people.
Our Correspondent reports that conference was tagged “Occupy till I come, Luke chapter 19:13.”
According to Liman, there was need for Christian faithfuls to fear God in all they do as the Bible commanded them.
He said, ”Fear of God will keep you away from sin, all kinds of goods will flow in to the life of the person who fears God.”
On his part, Anthony Yaro, PDP Senatorial candidate of Gombe South, who was represented by Ayuba Aluke, a spokesperson of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), called on the congregation to vote for leaders who respect the rule of law, justice, and showed fairness for all, respect for religious and ethnic diversity.
Yaro, urged Nigerians to think wisely and elect someone who would be ready to serve them well in 2023, adding that Nigerians needed to choose someone who would not compromise the interests of the country for his benefit.
Yaro added, “Therefore I am appealing to those of you that have not collected their PVCs to go and collect it.”
Also speaking, Joshua Lidani, Senatorial candidate Gombe South Senatorial District of the All Progressives Congress (APC), stressed the need for Christian faithfuls in Gombe state, to elect leaders who have fear of God in their hearts,”Do not consider physical look or worthily gain but vote wisely for a patriotic Nigerian who fear God,” he added.
