Gombe pledges continuous partnership, support to the military
…as Newly appointed GOC 3rd Division inspects formations, pays visit to Govt House, Traditional Rulers
The Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr Manassah Daniel Jatau, has assured the Military serving in the state of continuos support, partnership and collaboration towards ensuring the protection of lives and properties of the residents in the state.
Jatau gave this indication when he received the newly Appointed General Officer Commanding 3rd Division, Nigerian Army, on a courtesy call in his office.
He appreciated the contributions of the military and other security outfits working in the state towards maintaining peace and security.


In his words, “To God be the glory and gratitude for granting us the priviledge to be here to receive the GOC who among other responsibilities is to ensure the security of the state.
“In good time let me on behalf of His Excellency, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the Governor of Gombe State welcome you to the areas covered by the Division and Gombe State in particular. Please accept His Excellency’s greeting, goodwill and appreciation for the continuous support to the state in order to ensure that security, the topmost priority needs of human beings is attained in the state, and by implication the nation.”
“The state appreciates the place of security in all human endeavours. Accordingly, it established a Ministry of Internal Security and Ethical Orientation. Furthermore, the State appointed a Retired Colonel and Retired Commissioner of Police as Special Advisers on Security, in addition to the appointment of a Retired Director of Security Services as Adviser on Drugs and Narcotics.
“In all these struggles to ensure security and peace in the state, your Officers and Men have been actively involved and this is highly appreciated. Beyond these, their involvement in ad-hoc duties like the elections and the forthcoming census will also be appreciated.
“As you tour the areas under your jurisdiction, we wish to assure you of our support, partnering, collaborations and prayers to Allah to make it easy for us in all we undertake,” he added.
Earlier in his address, the General Officer Commanding 3rd Division, Nigerian Army Major General Abdulasalam Bagudu Ibrahim, intimated the Deputy Governor that he is in the state to tour formations under his jurisdiction.
He said, the 3rd Division which has its headquarters in Jos, Plateau State comprises of Taraba, Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe and Plateau States.
He added that, “the tour will accord him the opportunity to interface with officers and men as well as pay homage to the Government Authorities and Traditional Rulers.”
He appreciated the support given to the 301 Artillery Regiment (General Support) Gombe which aids the performance of their constitutional responsibilities of maintaining law and order and protection of lives and properties.
The GOC commended the government of Gombe State over transformation of the states by putting in place wonderful infrastructural facilities, and congratulated the people of the state for having a performing Government in place.
The Deputy Governor then presented the GOC with copies of Gombe Ten-Year Development Plan, and Three Years Score Card of Gombe Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s administration. The GOC in turn presented the Deputy Governor with a sourvenir.
The Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Ethical Orientation, Alhaji Adamu Dishi Kupto and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Col.. Sani Dapsia( rtd) and other heads of security agencies were among the entourage.
