Gombe State’s New Nigeria Peoples Party Governorship Candidate, Hon. Khamisu Ahmad Mailantarki, has called on traditional rulers and leaders across the state to ignore all threats issued against them by the state governor, Inuwa Yahaya for supporting other parties candidates.

 

He made the call while addressing a mammoth crowd of supporters and voters at his campaign rally in the Dasa community of Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

It could be recalled that, the state governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya had during his campaign at the palace of the Lamido Gona in Akko LGA allegedly threatened to remove any traditional ruler who supports opposition parties candidates in the state.

However, Mailantarki assured that he would reinstate any traditional leader affected by the governor’s desperate move to retain power against the wish of the people.

He promised to resuscitate values, respect, and rich culture in the institution that have been lost under the current administration in the state.

Mailantarki said, “I want to call on our traditional rulers and leaders to ignore all threats meted against them and to support the will of their people. If elected we will reinstate any Chief and Emir deposed or removed and pay them a kind comparations and their entitlements as well.”

The NNPP Governorship candidate assured the gathering which was dominated by women, youths, that he has a plan to better lives and standard of living.

“It is unfortunate that our youths don’t have jobs today and are mostly idle, the current administration has failed to come up with any meaningful empowerment for our youths, and the need for social amenities in our communities has been growing in various by the day, I assure you that such will not continue if NNPP is elected in the forthcoming elections.

“My contest for the seat of governor is to address needs in our state, I promise we will address challenges in the lives of our youths by changing the face of the Agricultural sector. We will not just provide fertilizer and input in time but develop a kind of market for the off-take of all our farm produced, we will introduce genuine mechanized farming and ensure that farmers get value for whatever they produce,” Mailantarki said.

Mailantarki who is the frontline and favourite candidate to win the Gombe state 2023 gubernatorial election also assured that providing a quality healthcare system is a major part of his plan for the state.

He added, “If elected as Governor I will make sure that our women especially pregnant mothers, children, and the elderly are given free and quality healthcare services.”

Mailantarki also led the NNPP campaign team to the Kuntaru community in Jagali North ward of Yamaltu Deba LGA promised to fix the dilapidated roads traversing the state.

He said, “I have driven through the roads leading to this community and I have seen what you are going through.

“We will end your suffering and long drive on a bad road to access healthcare. I know that farmers and herders clash is another major challenge and I assure you that we have concrete plans to address the issue and put a smile on the faces of all.

“I promise to address the issue of the lack of a functioning health facility in this community within my first 100 days in office, we have to tackle challenges including roads, health, education, and youths and women empowerment in this community and the whole of Gombe state.”
