The Gombe State Gubernatorial candidate for Labour Party Keftin Amuga, has dissociated himself, and other members of the Peter Obi’s presidential campaign council from the former North-East Zonal Presidential campaign council coordinator Alhassan Fawu.
Fawu who recently defected held a press conference with the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Atiku Abubakar claiming that the North- East zone of the council defected with him to PDP.
In a statement from the media campaign office, Amuga distanced himself and other members like comrade Danladi Bako, Agur Atajiri of the PCC from endorsing the presidential candidate of the PDP Atiku Abubakar.
He said, “Alhassan Fawu does not speak for the entire team but himself, and other members have not left the council, but will remain focused on continuing with campaigns for the candidate of the Labour Party Mr Peter Obi.”
While assuring Obi of the state’s support, Amuga predicted that the Labour Party Presidential candidate would emerge top in the February 25th poll, “He is not only getting the 25 per cent but outrightly win Gombe State,” Amuga added.
