Residents groan over Banks ATMs in Gombe

Some bank customers have been groaning over challenges experienced at various Automated Teller Machines visited by our Correspondent on Saturday.
Our Correspondent reports that the popular bank axis, known as Union bank junction was beehive of queues, as many residents attempted to withdraw ahead of election break.
Some banks visited other banks ATMs dispensed about N1,000, which came out five times totalling N5,000, while those with the same bank’s ATM had N10,000 dispensed to them.

Abubakar Imam, said he spent over five hours without collecting any money, disclosing that he wasted time at the ATM stand around bank road in Gombe metropolis.
According to Imam, “This is weekend I have less than N1000 for the weekend. The reason I came here was to collect some money to stock the house. I wonder what I will tell my wife when I get home, before it could get to my turn GTB claimed that money has finished.”
While lamenting how he would face his wife, Imam, noted that following the closeness of the election, he wanted to get food items to sustain his family for some time.
“I wonder what will happen; I was supposed to fill my house with food, Incase of anything as we approach election but I can’t even do that. This is the fourth ATM I’m visiting with distress,” Imam added.
On her part, Aishatu Adamu narrated how her bank ATM, was given just N1000 in times, adding, “what am I supposed to do with N5,000 given to me in five places N1,000 each with charges because I used Access bank ATM in another bank. This is too much, how can N5000 sustain me for the weekend.”
Also,Yaru Isah, disclosed that the ATMs have been programmed to cheat customers, adding that he was experienced a technical glitch, for the long queues.
Isah, stated that some customers worsened it by coming with more than one ATM cards, “how can one person spend over 10 minutes performing transaction, in the name of network whereas he is helping other family members to the disadvantage of others.”
