How the emergence of Obi, Kwankwaso’ll determine March 18 Gubernatorial, Assembly poll
By Cliff Stanley
Tomorrow Nigerians are going to decide the fate of 837 Governorship candidates and 10,240 candidates of House of Assembly in the election. The 25th February 2023 election demistified the voting pattern of Nigerian electorates, with the emergence of Labour party (Obidient), and New Nigeria Peoples Party (Kwankwasiyya), in body politics APC and PDP will never again hold Nigerians to ransom.
I have never witnessed an election where sitting governors are begging the citizens; going to Church, Mosque, paying scholarships, pensions and gratuities going to shopping mall to interact with the citizens they had disdained prior to the election.
Interesting video for me is the young lady that asked Governor Sanwo-olu, if he would interact with the citizens after winning the election? The electorates have understood the power they have as far as electing their Leaders is concerned.
Whoever thought that Labour party, that was registered 20 years ago will ever be popular and for Peter Obi, to join the party and contest on the platform in just Nine months and get five millions votes without the so much talked about STRUCTURES.
Many political gladiators and serving Governor’s were retired politically because of the believe they have that the Red chamber (Senate) is their cooling off place after they finished their tenure in the state.
While many electorates were disappointed with INEC and the outcome in the Presidential and National Assembly election many still believe that INEC, after the reconfiguration of the almighty Bimodal Voters Accreditation System, IREV will be used to transmit result to the people in real time as the made the people to believe earlier.
I strongly believe INEC will want to redeem it’s embattled image with Nigerians and the International Community to conduct credible, free and fair election that will be accepted by majority of the Nigerians.
States to watch out for tomorrow election are; Adamawa, Gombe, Bauchi in the North- East, while Kano, Kaduna Sokoto in the North- West, Benue, Nassarawa, Plateau in North -Central, also Rivers,Delta and Edo in South- South, Abia, Enugu, Anambra in South -East, Lagos, Ogun and Oyo in South -West were the president- Elect emerged from.
I believe alot of Columnists, political Analysts, public affairs Analysts will be shocked by the outcome of tomorrow election after the results must have been declare by the electoral Empire.
The revolutionary voting pattern in this election gives hope that a greater Nigeria is possible with the right leadership and better electoral process. Let’s go out tomorrow and vote leaders bearing in mind Competence, Character, and Political will to do the right things towards changing the political quagmire Nigeria is faced with.
