INEC declares PDP’s Kefas Agbu winner of Taraba governorship poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission, on Tuesday morning declared Col. Kefas Agbu, of the Peoples Democratic Party, as winner of the governorship election held on Saturday March 18th, 2023.
Prof. Muhammad Amed Abdulazez, the Vice Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa University, who served as returning officer declared the result at the INEC collation centre in Jalingo, adding that Agbu of the PDP scored the total of 257,926 to defeat his closest challenger, Professor Sani Yahaya of the NNPP, who polled 202,277 while senator Emmanuel Bwacha of the APC scored 142,502 and Danladi Baido of SDP got 28,374.
Our correspondent reports that Agbu won 11 local governments out of the 16 local governments to emerge winner of the contest.
