Disaster: Flood submerges over 300 houses in Taraba

Over 300 houses and business premises have on Monday been submerged by flood in Jalingo the Taraba state capital, following a heavy downpour that lasted for hours.
Our correspondent reports that the areas mostly affected are, residential homes and business premises located around the river Mayo-Gwoi, Magami and mile six bypass river banks.
Household items and animals worth millions of naira were destroyed by the flood.

A victim who was identified as Mr Joshua Musa, told our Correspondent that the incident has forced him and his neighbours to evacuate their residents for a safer area.
However, Taraba state government and state emergency Management Agency (SEMA), is yet to comment on the development.
