Forgive me: You need restitution not forgiveness Ex-Assembly speaker tells Taraba Gov
By Terna Chikpa, Jalingo
A two-term former Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abel Peter Diah, has replied the State Governor Darius Ishaku, over his plea for forgiveness.
Diah in a Facebook post, asked governor Ishaku to emulate Zachaeus in the Bible and mocked that the governor needs restitution to recover from the shock of losing his senatorial bid.
Our correspondent reports that Governor Ishaku had on Sunday at the Anglican church Mayo-Dassa in Jalingo, while delivering an Easter message, went on his knees and begged Tarabans to forgive him of his sins against the people.
But the former speaker while replying to the governor’s plea, instead mocked that the governor needs restitution to recover from the shock of losing in the last senatorial contest instead of forgiveness.
The former speaker’s post read, “Follow Zachaeus Footsteps of Forgiveness. You need restitution not forgiveness,” It read with over 2000 comments from citizens demanding for the return of all that the governor has looted from the state Treasury before they can forgive him.
