Gombe Gov yet to dissolve cabinet – Aide
Director-General Press Affairs Gombe State Government House Ismaila Misilli, on Wednesday said Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, was yet to dissolve his cabinet.
Misilli was reacting following reports that the directive by Yahaya to Ministries Departments and Agencies to submit handover notes before Wednesday 19th April 2023, was dissolution.
He disclosed that the directive was an advisory and not termination of their services.
Msilli said, “Gombe Governor, Inuwa Yahaya didn’t dissolve cabinet.The memo sent by the office of the Secretary to the State Government is just an advisory communication to the heads of MDA’s to prepare their handing over note ahead of time as the first tenure of the present administration is winding down. Nowhere in the letter was it stated that the State Executive Council was dissolved.”
Earlier, in a letter from the office of the Secretary to the State Government which was signed by Rabi’u Abubakar, dated April 11, 2023, and titled: ‘Submission of handing-over notes of Ministries, Department and Agencies’, urged appointees to treat as urgent the letter addressed to the offices of Principal Private Secretary Government House; The Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, Government House, Gombe; The Secretary to the State Government Governor’s Office; The Clerk Gombe State House of Assembly, Gombe; Chief Registrars, High Court of Justice/Shari’a Court of Appeal; All Permanent Secretaries; All Head of Extra Ministerial Departments and Chief Executives of Boards & Parastatals.
The statement added, “Following the recent successful conduct of the 2023 governorship election, which marked the end of the first tenure of the governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, I am directed to request that you prepare a comprehensive handover note of your Ministry, Department and Agency. Your submission may also include report of ongoing projects and programmes of government.
“You are, therefore, requested to submit the same to the office of the Secretary to the State Government on or before Wednesday April 19, 2023. Please, treat as urgent.”
