Impressive Mailantarki Boys Snatch Point At Kogi United
The amazing Mailantarki Care FC has produced another brilliant Nigeria National League performance to force hosts Kogi United to a goalless draw on Match Day four at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja on Saturday.
The visitors settled earlier in the game as the trio of Ibrahim Sani, Miko Dalha and Jabir Hassan showed a great display in contributing to the bright performance of the team before the break.
Miko Dalha was very close from putting his side in the lead just three minutes into the game when his effort went just over the crossbar, thanks to a fine delivery from Jabir Hassan.
Hosts Kogi United show impressed the home fans in the half-hour mark when Haruna Isah produced an individual effort before firing just over from the edge of the box.
Both teams returned from their respective locker rooms with much energy to gear up actions for superiority with the visitors appeared very lively in the offensive areas and could have put his side in front just to be denied by the cross bar following the young stars lofted delivery over the on rushing Kogi goalie Bemjamin Osagie.
Ten minutes into the match, the lights boys embarked on a stunning counter-attack which ended with Gabriel Chimezie who sprinted past two Kogi fullbacks but the forward blasted his strike inches away from goal.
At the other end, the Lokoja-based side equipped themselves with a couple of substitutions which almost paid off 10 minutes from time when Family Coker fired a weak effort wide of an unguarded net to the dismay of the home fans.
The hosts came closest once more which was brilliantly halted with a goal-line clearance by sensational fullback Jabir Hassan when he headed away from a goal-mouth scramble at the death and ensured the Mailantarki boys returned to Abuja with a point ahead of their Match Day five fixture with visitors Mighty Jets FC of Jos on Sunday 16 April, 2023.
