Breaking: Gunmen kidnap Taraba Council Chair, kill orderly

Gunmen on Sunday, attacked and kidnaped the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Takum local government area of Taraba State, Mr Boyi Manja, along Takum Chanchaji road in Takum local government area of the state.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA gathered that the gunmen also killed a police officer who is the council boss’s orderly and took the Chairman to an unknown destination.
Taraba State Police command spoke person (ASP), Usman Abdullahi also confirmed the development to our Correspondent and said, the command has already commenced search for the Chairman as well as the assailants.
“Yes, the Chairman of Takum local government area of Taraba state Hon. Boyi Manja was attacked and kidnaped this afternoon and his orderly who is a police officer was killed in the attack. The perpetrators went away with the Chairman and as we speak, his whereabouts is still unknown.
“We have commenced massive manhunt in the area to track down the kidnappers and rescue the Chairman. The command will do everything possible to ensure that those behind the act are brought to book.
“We call on members of the public with any useful information to quickly make it available to our men, just as we assure them that their identities will be kept safe,” PPRO confirmed.
