Our correspondent reports that their various wards and local government area chairmen in a separate briefing announcing their expulsion said they failed to exonerate themselves from petitions of gross misconduct and publicly canvassing support for other parties and candidates.

On May 2, the Chairman of APC in Bambam ward, Muhammad Kaka said the ward executives had no option but to expel Amos.

Kaka said the expulsion of the senator became imperative following the failure of the senator to defend himself against allegations levelled against him instead went ahead to issue threats to party executives at the ward.

“We held elections in our ward during the just concluded general elections and we have Amos from our ward who didn’t come out to partake in our political activities.”

On April 18, Abdullahi Tanimu ward Chairman of Kashere expelled Goje, citing “open support for opposition party candidates by hosting the NNPP gubernatorial candidate and the PDP Akko Federal House of Representatives candidate at his residence and offering support against the interest of his party, the APC, among many other instances.

“Making unguarded utterances and pronouncements capable of undermining the APC administration in Gombe State.”

According to a press statement signed by State APC Chairman Nitte Amangal, General Secretary Sadiq Abubakar, and read by the Publicity Secretary Moses Kyari, the party said its in agreement with the various wards.

The statement partly read, “That the decision of Kashere ward of Akko local government to expel Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje is in line with the provisions of our Party constitution and they have followed due process, therefore we endorse and reaffirmed the expulsion.

“The state Executive Committee endorsed the decision of Bambam ward of Balanga Local Government for the expulsion of Senator Bulus K. Amos and has also, endorse the decision of Lubo/Difa/Kinafa ward of Yamaltu Deba Local Government to Expelled Hon Yunusa Ahmed Abubakar.”

The statement while passing vote of confidence in Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, further urged the both zonal and national levels of the party to affirm the expulsion of the three lawmakers,
“The State Executive Committee pass a vote of confidence to the leader of the party in the State, His Excellency, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya. The Governor of Gombe.

“That the state Executive Committee urge the leadership of the party at the zone and national level of the party to endorse the decision of the party from ward, Local Government and State Executive Committees which is in line with the provisions of Article 21, Section A, subsection ii,iii, vi and vil of the APC Constitution,” the statement added.
