Gombe South Senator-elect vows to revamp Agric

Ahead of 10th National Assembly inauguration, the 2023 Gombe South Senator-elect, Anthony Siyako Yaro, has vowed to change the narratives for the people of his zone in enhancing food security, increase incomes, and help combat poverty through modern agricultural knowledge.
The senator-elect stated, who was elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, made this disclosure via his verified twitter handle, assuring constituents that he would journey through this path together in the 10th National Assembly to change the narratives.
He said, “80 per cent of the world’s poor who reside in rural areas and mostly work in Agriculture, need modern agricultural knowledge that can help combat poverty, increase incomes, and enhance food security. We will journey through this path together to change the narrative for our people.”
Yaro identified the urgency to deploy the use of modern Agricultural revolution to achieve food security, food sufficiency and increased incomes for the rural dwellers in the zone.
Our correspondent reports that Yaro, is an astute businessman and banker, he clinched the seat after polling 97,956 votes to defeat his closest challenger former Senator Joshua Lidani of All Progressives Congress and erstwhile Deputy Governor of Gombe State.
