The Secretary to Gombe State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has charged 2023 Kaltungo Local Government National Population Census Advocacy and Logistics Committee towards correcting the mistakes of the 2006 exercise and ensure that the outcome reflects the realities on ground.

Njodi who gave the challenge when he granted audience to the Committee in his office on Wednesday led by its Chairman and Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly Yerima Ladan Gaule.
He regretted the poor handling of the 2006 exercise by those saddled with the task of coordinating the affairs and called for concerted effort towards enlightening and mobilisation of people to actively participate.

He said, “considering the composition of the committee membership there is high hope that the 2023 population and housing census in the area will record expected success.”
While pledging his personal commitment as a prominent son of the area, Professor Njodi assured exploring his wide contacts and connections to reach out to well placed persons from within and outside Kaltungo to attract the required financial and moral support needed for the success of the exercise.
The SSG further admonished the Committee members to see the assignment as a call to serve their people appealing for synergy and unity of purpose to achieve set objectives.
Njodi also noted that while the Federal Government has postponed the exercise to later time, the committee should take advantage of the development to educate and mobilise all stakeholders for a befitting outing in future.
Earlier in his brief remarks, the Chairman of the Committee who doubles as the Majority leader State House of Assembly Gaule had informed the SSG that the visit is part of their advocacy tour to all stakeholders in Kaltungo Local Government to seek financial and moral support for a hitch-free census that would open a new vista of development in the area.
