Gombe SSG inspects refurbished facilities at Pantami Township Stadium
….lauds management of Gombe State Sports Commission
The Secretary to the Gombe State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has inspected some newly constructed and refurbished facilities at the Pantami Township Stadium.


The facilities inspected include eight public toilets, the Stadium’s clinic and power generator as well as the reticulated boreholes at the premises of the sporting facility.


Speaking after the inspection visit, Professor Njodi explained that Government’s intervention at the stadium is inline with Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s vision of making the state a point reference for progressive sports development in the country.
The SSG emphasised the need for the Gombe State Sports Commission to redouble efforts towards making the state an International sporting arena.
Njodi said, “Am happy that the stadium here is of International standard. I assure you that His Excellency is not going to rest until the stadium attains the status it deserves.”
He advised management of the Sports Commission to collaborate with relevant stakeholders and come up with a comprehensive write up for the Governor endorsement and action.
Earlier, the Chairman of Gombe State Sports Commission Dr Olanre Daniel, said construction and repair works at the stadium became necessary in view of the importance of such facilities to the stadium.
He said the reticulated water system at the stadium also serves the people of Pantami while the refurbished generator can work for maximum of 10 hours daily.
He thanked Governor Yahaya for his unwavering support and commitment towards Sports development in the state.
