No fewer than 1400 Corps members were sensitised to the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme.

The sensitisation, which was declared opened by the State Coordinator NYSC Gombe Ada Imoni, took place at NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp Amada, Gombe State.
Imoni was represented by the Camp Director, Mr Ado Taura, said NYSC Management was passionate about the programme and deemed it necessary to introduce SAED into the Orientation course content.
“The SAED Programme has for the past eleven years produced Entrepreneurs and employers of labour, who today have thriving businesses . I therefore call on you not to take it lightly. You must learn a skill for self reliance,” Imoni said.
She also said regulatory bodies like Standards Organisation of Nigeria; Corporate Affairs Commission, and National Agency For Drug Administration Control, among others, would educate Corps members on the imperatives of Standards and how to register their businesses in order to be great entrepreneurs and employers of labour.
She disclosed that the Graduate Entrepreneurship Programme, sponsored by the Bank of Industry was back after being in the doldrums for years, adding that Corps members who choose to continue with the post-camp training with their trainers for three-six months, with a bankable proposal would qualify for a zero interest loan up to three million naira start-up capital, after a three-day intensive online training by Bank of Industry.
Imoni also implored them to choose a skill, continue with the post camp training in order to be masters of their chosen Skills.
In her welcome remarks, the Assistant Director Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, Beulah Gokum, called on the 2023 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Corps members to avail themselves of the opportunity to learn a skill in order to stem the tide of unemployment.
Also, Abdullahi Maidabino, from National Directorate of Employment, spoke on entrepreneurship, while Victor Akpan and Sarah Pam, ex-Corps members and now Skill Trainers, motivated Corps members to participate actively in the Programme.
