M4GN DG urges President-elect to appoint new hands in Govt
Director-General, Movement for Greater
Nigeria, one of the leading support groups of Tinubu/Shettima Presidency,
Comrade Okedara Kolawole, has urged the incoming President, Asiwaju Bola
Ahmed Tinubu, to stop recycling old politicians but appoint new hands to
paddle the affairs of new Nigeria.
Speaking with Journalists in
Abuja, Kolawole said, “Appreciating the right set of people and groups that
work for the victory of the incoming government is the best thing APC must look into as a matter of importance. Our incoming president should stop recycling
old politician who have failed this country. But new hands should come on board to paddle the affairs of new Nigeria, re-engineering and retooling the
governance is very important. The old ones at the board, agencies, parastatals etc. should go home and play the advisory role to the new set of leadership coming on board, because we have qualified technocrats/professionals in all field across the support groups under APC that have contributed to the success of our dear party.”
“Majority of the support groups have
gone bankrupt due to their strong confidence in APC and they spent all they
have to see the victory of the incoming administration. But most time once some
of the political leaders get what they wanted from the support groups, they are
not more accessible to them. The support groups will now be kept in the dark,
that’s why the leadership of the party and the elected leaders this time must
put head together to address the issue of support groups. We are aware that the
national working committee of the party will be meeting Wednesday this week. We urge the leadership of the party to put support group issue as one of the major discussion at the meeting,
“he advised.
He further advised that the support groups should be allowed to nominate who they trust among themselves for appointments in any positions for good governance.
“At this point, it is very important we
plead for justice and equity as we have confidence that His Excellency Asiwaju
Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima will come to the aides of support groups under our great party APC. Whatever names support groups call themselves, we’ve all come together under one umbrella, under the leadership of, Dr Nasir Ladan, Amalgamated APC support group who is the Director General of all support groups. An effective and adequate reward system in a political
party is key for the advancement and progress of the party and the nation as a whole, “he added.
M4GN DG commended the leadership of Ladan, the Director-General of all the APC support groups, who have been
very committed and encouraging to all the support groups during the campaigns
time and after the elections, it is the rebellious act of some of the disloyal rebels that diverted the funds given to all support group without the knowledge of Dr Nasir Ladan, the leadership of the party should discipline and bring this rebels to book for mismanaging the funds given to support group before the presidential election.
“As the NEC of the party will be
convening its first meeting this week after the election, I will urge all
support groups leaders to convene also and do a press conference stating our
stands and demands from the leadership of the party and copy the president-elect, the vice president-elect and the national chairman of the party,” he appealed.
