In recent times, the capital territory of Asaba in Delta State has witnessed a tragic series of incidents resulting from the negligence and poor conduct of construction companies entrusted with the vital task of building drainage systems. The failure to cover manholes by these contractors has led to numerous fatalities and injuries among citizens and visitors alike. This article aims to shed light on the irresponsible actions of these companies, call for their accountability, and urge the Delta State Government and other stakeholders to take immediate action to rectify this grievous situation.
Negligence and Consequences:
The lack of due care demonstrated by the construction companies in failing to cover manholes within the entire capital territory of Asaba is deeply concerning. These contractors were awarded contracts by the Delta State Government, implying a level of trust and responsibility.
