Retirement: Gombe Govt honours Justice Apollos, throws valedictory dinner
The Gombe State Government has honoured the retiring High Court Judge, Justice Paul Idi Apollos, by organising a valedictory dinner.

The dinner, organised at the New Banquet Hall, Government House was very colourful and well attended by the top echelon in the legal system from Plateau, Adamawa and Gombe States.
Addressing the esteemed guests at the event Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, described Honourable Justice Paul Idi Apollos as someone who has created a lot of impact in the judicial system in the State.

Represented at the occasion by the Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General, Hon. Zubairu Mohammed Umar, the Governor said it was with mixed feelings of happiness and sadness that they are celebrating the exit of the legal luminary, adding “Happiness because he is retiring statutorily and sadness because his impact will be missed.”
“The dinner is to appreciate Hon. Justice Apollos for services rendered to the state and humanity in the legal system. He has been an icon in judicial functions and retiring statutorily at the age of sixty-five in accordance with the laws of the land.
“It is not easy to lose the kind of individual who has made this kind of impact in the system. However we wish you well in all your future endeavours even as we appeal that you avail yourself to assist whenever your services are required for the development of Gombe State and humanity,” the Governor added.
In their separate goodwill messages, the Justice Ibrahim Ali of Court of Appeal, and the Chief Judge of Plateau State, Hon. Justice David Mann, commended the retiring Judge for sitting on the Bench and attaining 65 years without blemish, especially in a duty whose responsibilities you can not delegate.
They extolled his virtues of accommodating and tolerating other people’s opinions and concerns irrespective of any form of difference, and congratulated him for a successful retirement.
Delivering the vote of thanks, the celebrant, Apollos appreciated the Governor for graciously approving the dinner, pointing out that they have not taken for granted.
He also appreciated all those who participated in the event and prayed God Almighty grants them safe return to their destinations.
Guests were treated to sumptuous meals, and cultural dances performed by the state Cultural Troupe, and dancers from Billiri Local Government Area, among others.
The event also featured the cutting of 65th birthday cake and group photographs with dignitaries and family.
